Zynga partners with Keith Urban for FarmVille 2: Country Escape promotion
Zynga has partnered with country music superstar Keith Urban for a cross-promotion in FarmVille 2: Country Escape on iOS and Android devices. The promotion sees players given access to listen to Urban's single "Good Thing" from within the app.
This promotion is similar to the Lady Gaga promotion in the original FarmVille from 2011, which saw the singer's music added to the Facebook version of Zynga's farming hit. However, this Keith Urban promotion is the first time Zynga has integrated a musician's song into a mobile title.
"Like music, mobile games such as FarmVille 2: Country Escape bring people together and provide them with a shared experience," said Keith Urban. "It doesn't matter where you're from or whether you're a guy or a girl – connecting with others is what it's all about."
Urban recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to perform "Good Thing" and talk about the promotion. Via this event, FarmVille 2 players have a chance to win a trip to the CMT Awards, including a meet and greet opportunity with the singer.
FarmVille 2: Country Escape is available to download for free on iOS and Google Play. The game is a standalone edition of the popular FarmVille franchise, and doesn't require players to have tried the Facebook version of the game to receive access.
