Become the mightiest warrior in Glorious Maximus on iOS, Android
Four-person development team Sneaky Games has launched its newest title on iOS and Android devices: Glorius Maximus. The "two-button brawler" is set in Ancient Rome, and sees players fighting barbarians with familiar characters, including Caesar, Hannibal of Carthage and Spartacus. Users win gold by completing battles, and can use that gold to upgrade their heroes with new (and better) weapons.
Glorious Maximus is a level-based experience, and asks players to defeat enemies using two buttons: attack and block. Each action costs stamina. When the stamina bar empties, players are left defenseless for a short time, until it eventually refills. Rocks and turkey legs fly at random around the screen, and can be swiped to activate. Rocks will hurt the player unless they're swiped, while turkey legs restore some of a hero's health.
Players earn up to three stars on each battle, depending on their skill in defeating their opponent. Users receive gold (and sometimes achievements) when completing battles, and can use that gold to purchase new items for their heroes over time. Players can replay past levels to earn more gold.
This gold is also used to purchase new heroes, which specialize in certain kinds of weapons, and may have special stats, like resistance to being "pushed" back when attacked.
"Glorious Maximus was born out of our desire to do smaller games with a faster development cycle. We wanted to see how quickly our team of 4 could build a small well put together title," says Sneaky Games. "We ended up being able to build Glorious Maximus in just a few months and we are excited for people to play!"
Glorious Maximus is available to download for $1.99 on iOS and Google Play. It does not include in app purchases.
