Stay In The Line Cheats And Tips

When you were a kid, you may remember a game where you guided an object through smaller lines without touching the sides. Developer Barry Wyckoff remembers these games and drew inspiration for his new mobile release, Stay In the Line. Here, you'll guide a small ball down ever-changing paths while avoiding the sides.
Worried that you'll wipe out? These tips will keep you on the ball.

How do I play Stay In the Line?

It's just like the classic games. You'll drag your finger along the touchpad area on the bottom of the screen, moving left and right to keep the ball in the center of the moving pathway.
It'll be tricky at first - you don't want to hit the arrows that appear on the left or right of the touchpad, as that'll automatically mean a game over - but once you get the hang of dragging your finger, you'll go on some great runs.

How do I avoid touching the sides in Stay In the Line?

The key is to watch how the path changes. The game moves smoothly enough that you can see big and smaller ridges coming up and prepare accordingly, and move along without touching the sides.
The game is slightly forgiving when it comes to touching certain sides, as you can sometimes brush along a wall here and there without getting a game over screen. Other times, it'll notice right away and end your round without warning. The best thing you can do is to get used to not touching the sides, and keep a steady finger on the touchpad to control your movements. That's the safest way to play.

Do I need to pay for anything in Stay In the Line?

There is an option to upgrade to a Pro version for an additional $0.99. This edition removes the annoying pop-up ads that come along every three games, and also adds a reversed neon theme, which does make it slightly easier to see the ball and the course you're on, highlighted in white and dark green. In addition, you'll also earn 2X points, although that doesn't make too much of a difference unless you're competing locally with friends.
Is the game worth it? It all depends on how much fun you have with the free version - and how crazy the pop-up ads might drive you. Play around with it for a few rounds, and if you have fun, feel free to make the upgrade. Otherwise, the free version is the best way to go.
