Modern Combat 5: Blackout Getting A Huge Visual Push

With Gameloft's Modern Combat 5: Blackout ready to make a killing on the mobile front this summer, the company has revealed details about what to expect in the latest entry of this first-person shooting series. Here's hoping you like good visuals.

The team has revealed that the game utilizes a new technology known as Screen Space Ambient Occlusion, a rendering technique that allows for more realistic shadowing in occluded areas. According to the team, "in layman's terms, it makes the game look more awesomer!"
Such effects that are being added with SSAO include better eye adaptation and bloom, soft particles, underwater distort and caustics, real-time character shadows, heat-haze, depth of field and others. While that sounds super-technical (and, yes, it is), it should no doubt make this game the best one in the series to date.

We'll find out when Modern Combat 5: Blackout drops this summer for iOS and Android, as well as Windows devices. We'll be back with tips, videos and more.
