Clumsy Ninja has been out on the Google Play Store for a little more than two months now and I have to say that my ninja is getting better and less clumsy every time I play. It kinda brings me pleasure to open the app and see my prodigy standing there ready to high five me, or simply taking a nap under the tree. Without a doubt, Clumsy Ninja is by far one of my favorite virtual pet game on the Google Play Store.
For those who are wondering what it is, the game is basically Tomodachi or Pokemon, but instead of monsters, you train and level up an adolescent ninja who starts out clumsy and awkward in the ways of the ninja. Using equipment like trampolines and watermelons, you will endeavor to create a badass super fighting machine that can chop down a tree with his bare hands. But that's getting way ahead of ourselves. As of right now, he is just a charming and adorable boy dressed in a karate outfit.
The game doesn't actually work entirely like a pet simulator though. You do not have to feed the ninja or stroke its ego or clean his poop. Instead, you complete tasks and missions like chopping 5 watermelons in a row or getting consecutive heavy punches on the punching bag. The ninja earns experience and coins every time he practices, and you buy better equipment for him to train with as short minigames.
There are other things you can do with him obviously, and some of it are pretty entertaining. For example, after practicing with a trampoline, he will walk up to you and lift his hand up waiting for you to give him a high-five. Doing so will earn you a small coin incentive. When he's not practicing, you can play with him however you want (that sounded wrong). You can grab him by his ankles and swing him round and round and drop him on his head. or you can fling him to the roof of a fruit stall. Even better, you can tie balloons around his ankle and watch him float into the air by the legs! Some of these outrageous acts are even rewarded by small amounts of coins. Flip him 360 and you get a few coins.
Developer, Natural Motion Games Ltd, has also recently updated the game for all you soccer fans out there following the World Cup. Now you can don your ninja in Brazilian colors and literally play soccer with defenders and inflatable players that "always bounces back!". The best bit, is that you can have an actual goal post in the background to shoot into. Also included is a secret Golden Egg that is bound to surprise you. I haven't uncovered it, so if you have, feel free to tell me in the comment section below.
I can't rave enough about this game. It is obvious that the developer has put a lot of love into it. Give the game a try, it's free anyway. I can guarantee you will love him just as much as you love your cat, or more. You can download it here.
Cheers!
