Pick A Pet: Choose a pet and rescue gummies on iOS, Android
Finnish game developer and publisher Fingersoft has announced the launch of Pick A Pet on iOS and Android devices. Developed by Irish game studio SixMinute, Pick A Pet is Fingersoft's first international studio collaboration. The game mixes match-three gameplay with pet collection and evolution, as players are challenged to tap and drag their finger on colorful gummies to create lines of three or more and remove them from the screen.
Each level has a move limit and a different completion requirement, from earning a large number of points to clearing special "oil" tiles from the screen, among others. Players earn up to three stars on each level, depending on their score. These stars are turned into pet food for their pets, which serve as power-ups while playing. The starter pet, for instance, creates explosions that remove non-matching gummies from the screen.
As players feed their pets, their abilities become more powerful, or may take less matches to activate. Pets eventually evolve and become more powerful still, but require more food to feed going forward. After players have collected multiple pets, they can choose which pet to activate before starting a level, adding a touch of strategy to the experience.
If users fail to complete a stage's requirements before running out of moves, they lose a life. Lives recharge for free over time, or can be purchased with real money. Players can also purchase food to level up their pets instantly.
