The Witcher: Battle Arena announced for Q4 2014 mobile release
CD Projekt Red and Fuero Games have announced The Witcher: Battle Arena for iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Windows tablets. The game transforms the existing Witcher franchise of console games into a "fun and accessible" MOBA, set in the same Witcher universe.
Set for release in Q4 2014, The Witcher: Battle Arena will see six heroes battling to the death as they attempt to capture and hold three points on the map. The game is said to offer a balanced learning curve for new players, while also providing "a limitless array of skill-based strategies" for those who want them.
Heroes have their own skills, and come in different "types," like an actual Witcher, a dwarven adventurer or a sorceress. The number of characters and gameplay modes will be increased after launch with free updates.
As such, The Witcher: Battle Arena promises no pay-to-win elements, and will allow gamers to unlock every bit of its in-game content "entirely via gameplay."
"The whole team here at Fuero Games is really excited at the prospect of developing a game for such a big and engaged community as that of The Witcher. I'm convinced that our skill in mobile multiplayer game development, combined with the creative flair of CD Projekt Red, will produce an experience Witcher fans will want to come back to again and again," added Stanisław Fiedor, CEO of Fuero Games.
