The Top 5 Angry Birds Games For iPhone, iPad And Android

It's only a matter of time before Rovio unleashes the double header of new Angry Birds games coming our way. Angry Birds Transformers should be up first, tying in with the upcoming Transformers: Age of Extinction movie, and the female-oriented Angry Birds Stella should follow later this year.
In the meantime, we decided to look back at the Angry Birds games that have come out and count down the five best. From interesting team-ups to the title that started it all for the flying fowl, we've got some great picks here. Let's start flinging!

5. Angry Birds Epic (Free)

An Angry Birds-oriented role-playing adventure? Hey, why not? They already conquered racing and strategy games, so it's interesting to see something new from the team at Rovio. Epic has fun turn-based gameplay to spare, along with engaging visuals and sounds that fans will easily recognize. Throw in a quest that will take hours to complete, and you have a game that's certainly, well, Epic.

4. Angry Birds Go! (free)

It's questionable putting Angry Birds behind the wheel of karts - how are they supposed to steer, anyway? - but Go! is an interesting twist on the premise, providing plenty of content to unlock and easy-to-grasp gameplay that all ages of players can get into. While the free-to-play approach isn't everyone's speed, this interesting new wrinkle in the Angry Birds saga is worth checking out.

3. Angry Birds Rio (free)

Tying in with the Sony Pictures movie of the same name, Angry Birds Rio benefits from a new tropical setting, as well as the addition of a couple of new characters that really freshen up the formula. Rovio did a great job recapturing the ambience of the film, while keeping the same addictive gameplay that's made the series work so well. Now where's Angry Birds Rio 2?

2. Angry Birds ($.99)

We'd be fools not to recommend the game that started it all for the franchise. The first Angry Birds maintains the simplistic yet addictive nature of the series, and continues to be a go-to favorite for avid fans and newcomers alike. For good measure, the addition of the Seasons chapters extended the gameplay, while keeping with a timely theme from the real world.

1. Angry Birds Star Wars ($.99)

Even though Angry Birds Space is well worth recommending, it's when the franchise teamed up with Star Wars that things truly went intergalactic. Between the stunning original game and the entertaining follow-up, Rovio made stellar games for both franchises, making it a best-seller across the board. It even ended up on consoles shortly thereafter, although mobile is still your best bet, mainly due to the cheap price. Buy them - there is no try.
