Best First-Person Shooters For iPhone, iPad And Android

First-person shooters are great when it comes to testing your reflexes and putting enemies in their place - particularly if you're going at it in multiplayer. While they're usually preferred on consoles, there are some good ones available for the mobile market, even if that means adjusting to touchscreen controls in favor of wielding a twin-stick peripheral.
To prove our point, we chose five great first-person shooters worth checking out. Load up on ammunition and prepare to fire!

The Drowning (free)

DeNa Mobile's The Drowning is one of the more innovative shooters you'll find on the market, thanks to its dual-touch aiming system. To fire shots, you actually need to put two fingers around your target, and the bullet flies between them, hitting the mark. It's an intuitive change that works for the better, alongside the game's slightly creepy albeit beautiful visuals. If you need a break from the shooter norm, this one is worth downloading.

Call of Duty: Strike Team ($6.99)

While not as in-depth as the Call of Duty experiences on consoles, Strike Team is a wonderful spin-off from the series, combining tactical overhead soldier placement with intense first-person shooting action. The game looks splendid for mobile standards, and the controls work in all the right ways. This is a nice one to spend time with while waiting for your friends to get online for a little Modern Warfare.

You'll take on a number of automated targets in the single player campaign, while challenging friends in enjoyable multiplayer action as well. It's the best of both worlds, combined with solid gameplay and pretty visuals. Enjoy the ride!
