RUN-NY Review

When you get a runner game with a cute little robot to control, you get a simple game titled RUN-NY. So what does this game do to separate itself from the other runner games? Please read on fellow gamers.
Now if you like game such as Jetpack Joyride and Pac-Man Dash, you will easily get into RUN-NY. The game is in a 2D side scrolling view, and your robot will auto-run from point A to point B, and you will also jump over and shoot through obstacles. And just like Jetpack Joyride you will have 3 different objectives when you start a level. Objectives such as "jumping 15 times" or "collecting 150 coins in a level" if you manage to complete all the objectives in the level before you get to the finish line you will be awarded three stars. And when you do collect coins you will be able to purchase different upgrades at the games store.
The game's controls only consist of jump and shoot. The left side of screen is used to jump, and the right side of the screen is used to shoot. The controls, as simple as they are can sometimes be unresponsive, for example, there are times that I've wanted to jump onto a platform to either avoid an obstacle or to collect coins, at times I found the little robot missing the jump even though I tapped on the left side of the screen to jump. And I must admit I found myself getting frustrated at times, and that made me leave the game at times too.

Another complaint I have with this game is the loading times, my goodness, the amount of time for the game and for levels to load is long, it is almost like installing a new game, I have clocked in a whole five minutes for the game to load and three to five (sometimes longer) minutes to load. With the technology that we have today these long loads for a game is just unacceptable.
The graphics looks great, smooth and solid, and it will easily catch the eyes of kids, which is not a bad thing. And the robot almost looks like Disney's Wall-E. The game's sound also sounds great too.
I would have loved to enjoy this game more but with the problems with the controls, and long load times, I made me turn away from this game. I did like the cute robot runner concept, but unfortunately the major issues just overshadowed the rest of the game. RUN-NY is free at the Google Play Store.
