Crazy Pa: Karate Fighting Review

I am sure that our parents have told us to respect our elders, well it is too bad that someone had to disrespect this elderly man…and I feel sorry for the poor soul who did that, because this is not your average old man, you see this old man knows Karate. This game is simply titled Crazy Pa: Karate Fighting, and it is about an old man who is just going for his afternoon nap, until a baseball goes through and shatters his window. As he looks out the window he sees that there is a local gang going around causing trouble in the town. So it is up to this Karate fighting grandpa to do something about it.
When you play this game you will start to notice that it almost looks and plays like Double Dragon for the NES. On the lower right side of the screen you have three buttons, one to punch, to kick, and to jump.
As you start the game you will have to take down a certain amount of gangsters, and they will come at you from both directions, all gangster have health bars above their heads, and once their health has been depleted more gangster will come. And once you enemy counter reaches zero, you will progress to the next level. Of course you will be awarded points or in this case Yen, and with the Yen you will be able to give yourself more health or you can make grandpa stronger, or you can buy him other weapons to use in combat, weapons such as nunchucks, or frying pans. The combat really consists of just simple button mashing, tap the punch or kick button a few times and grandpa with give those gangsters some Karate combos.

When you are at the stage select screen you will notice that there are some squares are big and some that are small. The big squares usually have bosses fights, and believe me the bosses are big, I sometimes think of Rocky IV when I play the boss fight, because in some ways it does remind me of the fight between Rocky and Drago.
And the small squares are just levels that just have gangsters. Sometimes the small square levels can go two ways, at times you will have to defeat enemies until your counter reaches zero, and at times you will have timer, and if you do not defeat enemies within the time limit, you'll have to start the level over again.
The graphics do have a comic book style that look great, everything move and play well, and even the sound effects sound great, like that of a classic Kung Fu movie (Bruce Lee movie anyone?)  Its too bad that this game does not have more content added to it. The store does have a few perks that you can upgrade, and a few weapons that you can also buy, but that is pretty much it.
Crazy Pa: Karate Fighting, is just a simple 2D, button mashing, beat'em up game. If you are looking to kill time while you are at the doctors office, or waiting in line, then you can download this game for free, from the Google Play Store.
