Sonic Dash Review

New endless runner games are arriving the Play Store all the time, that is why I had big expectations when I first started playing it. Sega, which is a big developer, or at least bigger than most of the developers for mobile games should have the time and budget to make a great game. And I must say, as far as endless runners go, this isn't that bad!

So the goal of the game is pretty simple; Run as long as you can and fight the bosses when you need to. The boss levels which is clearly inspired by the Despicable Me endless runner game, are pretty cool. Sega released the game earlier for iOS, which sucks by the way, so we already knew what we where getting into.
Gameplay
Sonic Dash use the same mechanisms that we know from before used in the original endless runner game Temple Run and other similar games. The game was actually fun. As you run you picks up the classic gold rings that can later be used to buy in game abilities and other power ups. The cool thing about these is that if you crash into crabs or other obstacles, you will not die immediately, you will just lose rings until you have none left. The game runs smoothly but expect some lag if you run it on some older devices.

Design
Sonic Dash use the same designs used in their other released games for mobile. It is looks nice and feels nice too when you play. It isn't exaggerated graphics so that is a relief, not that I expected it though. This is very important because I think the goal of the game is to have it released for everyone so they can increase their income. But I digress. There is no flickering tiles or anything out of place. The animation was really cool. When you roll or jump, Sonic will turn into a spinning ball which is hands down awesome. So is some other new features like these swipe combos that you can do when you get bounced up into the sky.
All in all, the game is really good and worth a try. Although there is a lot of "buy this" and ads similar to that. But you can't complain about a free game, right? Anyways great game, simple, cool and easy. Totally worth a try!
