Super Lemonade Factory Part Two iPhone Review

The original Super Lemonade Factory turned out to be an enjoyable 8-bit style platformer, with a few puzzle elements - and chuckles - thrown in for good measure. So it shouldn't be a surprise to learn that the recently released Part Two keeps up the status quo. This new game takes place post-World War II, and follows a pair of employees - Andre and Liselot - as they attempt to get through a factory while dealing with whatever problems their co-workers throw their way.

The Good
Super Lemonade Factory's platforming action feels like it came straight out of the NES era, and features controls that are responsive for the most part. It helps that Andre and Liselot both bring something different to the table, thanks to his dash ability and her double-jump skills.
The game's presentation is wonderful, and packed with old-school sprites and backgrounds that bring the game to life. The 90's alternate rock soundtrack suits the game nicely, or you can just listen to your own playlist if you prefer. Even though the story makes no sense at all, the cut scenes are pretty funny.
The Bad
Super Lemonade Factory Part Two seems like a shorter game than the first, as we couldn't find any bottle caps that would let us unlock tougher, hardcore levels this time around. Maybe they're that well hidden. There are also several notable glitches throughout the game, including inexplicable deaths (like bopping your head on a ceiling - that kills you?) and enemies that vanish without a trace from an invisible ledge. Finally, the story might be a bit more miss than hit for some.
The Verdict
Although it's far better enjoyed in sips, rather than gulps due to its short length and simple nature, Super Lemonade Factory Part 2 is just as savory as the first game. Pick it up if you're a fan of the classics.
