By now you've probably noticed you can earn tokens within the realm of Pokemon TCG Online, but what good are they for? How do you spend them? It can be a little difficult to find these things out immediately, especially if you're unfamiliar with the game, so here's a brief rundown of tokens, what they're for, and how to earn them.
What are tokens?
Tokens in Pokemon TCG Online are a special currency that you can use in Pokemon TCG Online on the desktop and the special app. They're quite valuable, you see, so if you have some on-hand you might want to keep them around!
How do I earn tokens?
There are a few ways to start earning tokens. The easiest way is to keep logging in every day. Most of the time, you'll be rewarded with 15 tokens simply for logging into the game. Every 4 days this changes to a pack of cards, so that's an even bigger incentive to keep coming back. And you're going to keep coming back to play anyway, right?
Additionally, you can earn tokens by playing against other people. Once you complete your very first PvP match of the day that lasts longer than 5 minutes, you'll be rewarded with 10 tokens, whether you win or lose. You can take this even further with every expert PvP battle you win or lose that lasts five minutes, as you'll automatically get 1 token. If you win, you'll receive three. If you're playing on PC, you can play games on the Pokemon Fun Zone to earn tokens as well.
What do I spend tokens on?
Once you've amassed a small fortune of tokens, you'll likely want to spend them, right? You can buy quite a few things, most importantly of which are additional cards in the shop section. You can purchase 5-card mini booster packs from any set of cards with 95 tokens, and every card you purchase this way will become locked to your account.
For 500 tokens, you can buy an entire theme deck, which will also be locked to your account. Additionally, you can buy different deck boxes and card sleeves with tokens as well.
