The Good
Adventure Xpress is a match-3 puzzle RPG. You attempt to solve the puzzle on the bottom of the screen, and the bigger your combo, the more damage you deal to your enemy at the top of the screen. This gives you an added objective to comboing your chains and matching the most blocks.
You choose from a few different avatars, and there are many enemies you'll battle on your journey. Some enemies are hurt more or less by the different elemental blocks that you match, which offers another element of strategy you'll need to consider. The graphics and character animations are all very well presented, and the cartoony graphics fit with the humor and style of the game.
In addition, you have different weapons and armor to purchase. You can buy these weapons with coins you earn from each battle, and while it'll take a hefty amount to earn everything, the incentive to get more adds yet another exciting element to the experience.
The Bad
The game has a small amount of pop-ups and premium add-ons. It tries to get you to purchase stamps that let you get weapons and armor before your level cap will allow. While it isn't necessary to buy the stamps, it is tempting to get the better weapons and armor.
The Verdict
Adventure Xpress is a very good match-3 puzzle game. The RPG style combat and attractive graphics and animations are very well done. The game is definitely worth a play for fans of puzzle games, but doesn't do a lot to advance the genre.
