How to Earn Free Cards in Pokemon TCGO

It's easy enough to earn tokens and figure out how to play the game when it comes to the Pokemon TCG Online app, but how and where do free cards come in? Where do you earn them and what can you do with them? It's time to learn so you can be the best trainer you can be!
How do free cards work?
When you receive free cards, you must keep in mind that, for the most part, you can't trade them with other people. When you have them in your inventory, you can see which cards can be traded and which cannot be as they'll be denoted with a small lock icon by the card itself. Tradable cards will be earned by redeeming codes you've purchased or buy buying items from the shop. Even if you have doubles of said cards, you won't be able to trade the ones denoted as untradeable, so remember that when discussing strategies with friends!
How do I get free cards?
There are a few different ways to obtain cards, and the easiest of which is to, like we do for tokens, keep logging in every day. For instance, when you earn enough you'll be gifted the Basic Orange deck as a login bonus as well as three random booster packs. Like we mentioned in the token article, you'll see a random booster as your login bonus for each five you successfully complete, but there are other ways to earn as well.
Completing the Trainer Challenge will net you an entire deck after you defeat 10 other trainers while using it. You can repeat this method for every deck you come across, and keep defeating opponents to unlock them permanently. Also, while facing off against NPCs in the Trainer Challenges, keep an eye on the Trainer Score bar and earn additional points by facing the NPCs. When you earn over 30,000 points, you'll get a random booster. If you do this with every single NPC you find in a league, you can earn up to 3 packs, for a total of 45 booster packs eventually. This can be done much quicker on Expert difficulty.
Are there any free card codes I can use?
Yes, in fact! Use the following codes for a free water/normal "Rallying Cry" deck: FuriousFists, FlashFire, PlasmaFreeze, PlasmaBlast, PlasmaStorm, and BoundariesCrossed. Alternatively, you can use DragonsExalted, DarkExplorers, or NextDestinies for a Pokémon EX Hat.
