Amazing Thief iPhone Review

Simplistic one-touch games are extremely popular. Their simplistic design means anyone can pick up and play. You don't have to be an avid video game player to enjoy them. Amazing Thief tries to bank on that success to become the next big thing.

The Good
Amazing Thief is a very simplistic game. It is an endless runner in the vein of Flappy Bird. You control your character's jumps as he makes his way from platform to platform while avoiding hitting the top and bottom. You have the ability to double jump in the game, so it takes a lot of strategy and time to master the physics. Some instances you need to fall down a bit so you have enough room to make your jump. The game for the most part, though, is very easy to play for anyone. The game's charm is its simplicity. Its just a stick figure running and jumping with a white background and splotches of color.
The Bad
There is no story explaining why you are a thief. Amazing Thief has no extra modes or unlockables, and the game has no music. Players looking for a deeper experience will have to look elsewhere because what you see is what you get.
The game is also very difficult. Mastering the jumping physics takes a bit of time, but it might turn some people off who keep dying after only one jump. In-game ads also hamper the experience because they pop-up after every death.

The Verdict
Amazing Thief is a very fun title, but probably not charming or innovative enough to be the next great mobile game. It may look simple and easy, but it takes a while to master the jump physics. Some people may not have that time, and considering the other issues, may pass it by.
