Swords & Poker Adventures Cheats And Tips

It's kind of odd seeing a traditional card game combined with a medieval adventure. However, Konami's Swords & Poker Adventures is still a worthwhile title with a unique battle system, one where you form killer poker hands to damage a variety of monsters. Along the way, you can unlock new weapons and upgrades to increase your battle strength and odds of winning more matches.
With these helpful tips, you'll lay down cards in no time.

How do I play Swords & Poker Adventures?

There are two sections to the game. The first involves traveling in an open-world map, with areas divided up by different missions and monsters. From there, the battle switches to a card grid, where you put together hands of five cards by using additional ones in your hand. They can be laid down horizontally, vertically and diagonally.
With each successful hand you put down, you can damage your opponent. The better the hand, the more damage you do. However, it's the same way with them, as they can lay down a four-of-a-kind or something along those lines and hurt you.
One thing to watch for is combos. You can score multiple hits if you lay down cards that match up more than one hand vertically, horizontally or diagonally. These combos come in handy when you're running low on strength.

How do I purchase upgrades in Swords & Poker Adventures?

Upgrades are available through the in-game shop, separated into shields, weapons and magic. Magic enables you to get additional power-ups, along with the wild cards that you can convert into Jokers, which match up with anything you put on the board. Shields provide additional protection against enemy hits, while better weapons can do more damage than your default sword.
You'll earn plenty of gems and coins to buy these over the course of the game, but there is an option to buy more using in-game purchases, which we'll cover below.

How do I refill my health in Swords & Poker Adventures?

As you take on battles in each zone, you'll have a token that allows you to refill your health completely. The first one is free and refills it completely. After that, however, you'll need to use gems to buy more. Your best bet is to wait until your health is almost out (but not to the point where you lose a battle) and then refill before facing the next monster.
As for the charge meter that appears in the corner, it eventually runs out with each new battle you run into, which takes one charge or more. Once that runs out, you'll either need to wait a while for it to refill, or you can pay for an optional Infinite Battle Energy power-up.

Do I need to pay for anything in Swords & Poker Adventures?

The main game is free, but if you want to keep battling without waiting, you'll need to purchase the Infinite Battle Energy perk for $4.99. It's a steep price to pay, but you won't need to worry about refilling the meter.
In addition, if you want the better weapons and magic right away, you can buy additional gems anywhere from $1.99 to $99.99, depending how many you need. Play the game first before you decide what your purchase should be.
