The Good
SAS 4: Zombie Assault places you right in the middle of the zombie outbreak. You are a Special Forces agent progressing through various levels blasting zombies and saving survivors along the way. The game is controlled with the analog sticks on-screen and this controls your movement and shooting. You can move or shoot in any direction and at the same time. The game is similar to Smash TV, another top down shooter, and like Smash TV, you've got co-op and multiplayer modes that allow you to team up with a random person online. There are three different characters to choose from: the Assault, Medic, and Heavy. Each character has different abilities to help switch up gameplay, as well. There are also different kinds of zombies to help switch things up. There are regular zombies, but also those that spit acid at you, ones that have shields, and many more. The levels are teeming with cash and loot to pick up along the way as well. You can also buy and upgrade your characters weapons, armors, and skills.
The Bad
In the Co-op mode there is no way to pair up with a friend. The match making system randomly pairs you up with someone. While playing with new people is fun, it doesn't give you the same experience as playing with someone you know. The game can also be a little repetitive. There are a lot of different levels you go through with varying objectives, but at its core you are just going from one room to another killing a couple waves of zombies. While this is fun in the beginning, it is best enjoyed in small doses.
