Vainglory is taking the mobile gaming world by storm, but for those of
your still on older devices, or who just want to play something
different there is a plethora of mobile-MOBAs available. Translating the
frantic pace and tactical gameplay of a MOBA to mobile can be difficult
work, but here are some of our favorite games that we thing got it
right.
Heroes of Order & Chaos
This
game was one of the first MOBAs to hit iOS and it is still a blast.
Combat in Heroes of Order and Chaos is a constant game of tactical
decision-making and timing. The game does feature a whopping 40
characters, however there are only three maps which can get repetitive.
Gameloft has kept this game updated for two years and it still has a
strong player base.

The Witcher: Battle Arena
Although
this game isn't quite out yet (it's still in closed beta), it's one to
keep its eye on as Developer CD Projekt Red is known for the high
quality of their titles. Although it seems to be fairly, although
polished MOBA affair, it can be assumed that there will be no premium
currency or any gimmicks in this game.
Currently in Closed Beta check here for updates.
Solstice Arena
Branded
as a "speed-MOBA", Solstice Arena, which was first released on PC,
translates great to mobile play. Instead of the typical grinding and
towers, this game is almost all power-up based and is great for players
on the go. The only drawbacks to this game is the small amount of heroes
and the cost to unlock new ones. However, if you don't mind sticking
with a few characters this game is sure to be a joy.

Plants War
Playing
as Leafy, the lone hero as you attempt to defend your motherland from
the invasion of evil. Leafy can be upgraded into several different
forms, including Muscles Leafy and Quick Leafy. This is another freemium
title, but I managed to have quite a bit of fun with it without paying
any real money The music is pleasing and the bright and well done
graphics and tight controls make this game worth checking out.

Legendary Heroes
This
offering from Maya Games is a bit of a generic offering, but is a great
game for new players looking to get their feet wet when it comes to the
MOBA genre. The game consists of 30 short levels in which players must
attempt to destroy their enemy's towers and source well while they're
attempting to do the same to you. Touch controls are solid, and although
the game is a freemium title, players have access to plenty of the game
without having to pay any real cash.
