Iron Force Cheats And Tips

Fancy a little World of Tanks action on the go? In that case, you'll probably want to check out Chillingo's Iron Force, a tank-battling game that hit the App Store last week. We gave this tense and strategic combat title a score of 3.5 out of 5.

1
- When it comes to a free-for-all, there is no honor on the battlefield. Can you see two tanks going head to head around that corner? Wait until they've whittled each other's health down, then get in there and finish off the weakest combatant. If you're lucky, you'll get to take down the second guy straight afterwards too.
- Don't just sit out in the wide open so that anyone can get a shot at you from behind. Learn the best hiding spots on the maps so that you can make a surprise entrance - and an even more surprising retreat if the battle starts going against you. Look for gaps between buildings that you can squeeze into.
2
- The best way to learn a map is to take a defensive approach when you're playing the game. Try going through a couple of matches without trying to kill your opponents. See how long you can survive and stay out of your opponents' sights. The longer you live, the more opponents you can take down when you play offensively.
- Legions allow you to team up with other players when entering combat. You can create or join a Legion via the menu screen. Note that each Legion can only have a maximum of 50 members, and you may need to wait for your application to be approved by the Legion creator.
3
- Unless you've identified a particular weakness in your playstyle, it's best to upgrade your tank evenly across all categories in the Armory. Upgrading your Engine is a good shout in the early days, however, so that you can get out of danger quickly.
- Think very carefully before applying patterns to your tank of choice - the bonus effect each one provides only lasts for a limited amount of time. Make sure you have a solid window of play ahead of you before buying these expensive upgrades.

Rivals At War: 2084 Cheats And Tips

Fans of the original Rivals At War have a lot to look forward to in the futuristic sequel, released earlier this month. Here are our top hints and tips for getting ahead in the game.

1
- Don't forget to add new gear to your soldiers, as these items can give you a powerful edge in combat. To apply a new piece of equipment to a squad member, open up the My Team screen, scroll to the soldier you want to enhance, and then tap on the equipment slots to choose from your available Gear cards.
- Equipment degrades a little bit after each round of combat you participant in. You don't want your equipment to degrade completely, so make sure you repair often, or as your currency allows. Go into the My Team screen, select the appropriate soldier, then tap on the piece of equipment to repair it.
2
- If the game's systems are a bit too much for you to take in first, you can always make use of the Equip Best button. Select this and the game will choose what it believes to be the best piece of equipment for each soldier you select. Try not to get too dependent on this as it's not perfect - be sure to understand why each item might have been selected for you.
- If you've managed to unlock some Skill cards, you'll be able to apply them to your soldiers. Go to the My Team section of the interface, and look for any soldiers that are shown with a red badge. Tap on an available slot, then choose from your pile of Skill cards to slot one of them in.
3
- If you're looking to get hold of free Bucks in Rivals At War, be careful about which of the promotional options you choose. The ones that offer the most Bucks will require you to spend real-life money anyway, so stick to watching the trailers for a handful of notes.
- Has a squad member gone MIA? Chances are they need healing. Go into the My Team section of the game, look for a squad member with a red label, then tap on that icon to heal them and get them ready for another slice of action.
4
- Need more coins? There are a couple of things you can do. First of all, sell off any cards that you no longer need, or are simply duplicates. Alternatively, tap on the coins icon to go through to a promotional screen where you can watch trailers in exchange for more money.

Riptide GP2 iPad Review

Longtime Nintendo fans have fond memories of Wave Race 64, the 1996 N64 game that impressed players with its - at the time - realistic water effects and physics; jaws literally dropped. We never expected this to happen again, but then we played Riptide GP2 for iOS and Android.
2
We hope you own a high-end device to experience everything Vector Unit's beautiful game has to offer, because it is without question one of the most captivating apps we've seen, and it begins with the water. It pitches and rolls, swells and reflects each visually stimulating environment better than its predecessor. Charging through calm waters gives the illusion of slicing through glass, while hitting a large wave propels your rider a good 10 feet into the air.
The fact that the game's performance remains consistently good with several racers jockeying for position is even more impressive. If Riptide GP2 stutters we've yet to witness this, even during four-person online matches; one of the game's new features. Plowing through churning waters, sailing high above the tracks, pulling off an assortment of cool tricks and screaming around nasty turns work without a hitch in gameplay; to be fair, we used an iPad 3, and Vector Unit provides the option to tinker with graphical effects if you run into trouble.
The developers went with tilt as the primary control method, and we think the game handles wonderfully. That said, you may switch to touchscreen steering if moving your arms is too much of a chore and/or embarrassment.
4
As for the heart and soul of the game, it works similar to competing racers. You level up to earn cash, used to upgrade your current vehicle and buy additional watercraft. In addition, race types include time attack, the usual beat everyone to the finish line and elimination, where the last-place competitor gets eliminated every 15 seconds. Nothing revolutionary by any means, but certainly acceptable given the $2.99 price tag and promise of updates.
The only criticism deals with the menus, where you might accidentally jump into a race instead of cycling through the list of events. Aside from that minor irritation, Riptide GP2 is about as close to perfect as mobile games get. From the outstanding water to the Career and Online play, you'll struggle to find better racers on smartphones and tablets. We can only hope there's even more content in the months to come.

Bloons TD Battles iPhone Review

If you're a fan of the tower-defense genre, it's likely you've already sampled the delights of the Bloons TD series. Combining some seriously satisfying tower-defense gameplay with the sort of cartoonish charm found in the Super Monkey Ball series, it's become the dominant franchise in this busy corner of the App Store.
1
As the name of this new game suggests, Bloons TD Battles takes the focus away from level after level of regular but tightly designed defensive gameplay, and zeroes in on real world battling. A brief tutorial aside, there's no AI component to this latest Bloons game. Instead, you'll be going head to head against players from around the world.
The actual gameplay itself is very familiar, however. Across each map, you place your static defensive units - dart-firing monkeys, multi-directional tack shooters, long-range sniper monkeys and so on. As waves of balloons descend upon the map and travel along a fixed, winding path, these defensive units automatically try to pop them - as long as they're in range, that is. Should a balloon reach the end-point of the path, you'll lose a little bit of life.
2
So those are the basics, but how does this all translate into a multiplayer experience? Well, there are two modes to tackle. In the first, Assault Mode, you not only have to balance your economy so as to maintain your defenses, you'll also need to factor in the cost of sending out a steady stream of balloons to give your opponent something to worry about. If that all sounds like a little too much micromanagement for your liking, you can choose the Defensive Mode, where each player simply attempts to survive an endless - and increasingly difficult - series of balloon waves. The last man standing wins.
Whichever mode you choose, its a really fresh and fun experience. Assault is by far and away the trickier of the two modes, as you maintain one eye on your opponent's base-building strategy, while frantically keeping your own affairs in order. Defensive Mode perfectly compensates for this tension however, and is a great way to enjoy a more relaxing and social take on the game. You still have to manage tower placement and upgrades, but it provides a little more of the simple fun that other games in the series have delivered so consistently.
3
For all this refreshing fun, there are a few negatives to this new take on the Bloons franchise, however. An energy system prevents you from enjoying too many rounds of gameplay in any one session, although you can watch some promotional videos or hit the in-app purchase store if you're not inclined to wait for it to recharge. The Medallion currency, awarded after victory in battle or purchased from the IAP store, can also be used to enhance your units. Sure, you can eventually grind these out from gameplay alone, but it leaves the battlefield feeling a little uneven in the short term.
Bloons TD Battles likely isn't what purist fans of the series would have asked for, but at this stage in the franchise's life it's probably time for something other than more of the same - however enjoyable the existing single-player games have been up until now. It's the classic gameplay remodeled for a different sort of audience, then, and even IAP quibbles can't take too much of the shine off the predictably outstanding gameplay to be found here.
