Fly Birdie: Flappy Bird Flyer Cheats And Tips

Now that Dong Nguyen's Flappy Bird fluttered away from the App Store, fans are turning to clones that attempt to mimic its gameplay. One of those clones is TapTomic's Fly Birdie: Flappy Bird Flyer, a game that attempts to copy the mechanics of that popular release, but with a more tropical setting.
Here are some tips that will help spread your wings.

First, it's Much Easier than Flappy Bird

A lot of Flappy Bird clones frustrate players with their heightened challenge and limited gameplay. However, Fly Birdie is easily one of the more forgiving clones we've seen. You not only have a series of lives you can use over the course of the game - three in all - but the pipes are also wider apart, which makes it easier to get through them. If you're looking for something the kids can enjoy, this is the game.

Stick to the Center of the Board

Like Flappy Bird, Fly Birdie uses a one-touch control system to keep your bird in the air. It's important to keep a good rhythm going so you can get through each of the pipes with ease. Since they're wider apart, there's a little more forgiveness involved, but keep in mind you can still collide into them on the top and bottom. Try to stay in the center as closely as possible.

Pay Attention to the Time

Unlike other Flappy Bird clones, Fly Birdie runs on a different system. Rather than counting the pipes you fly through, it instead pinpoints the time you spend on your flight. So you don't have to worry about a pre-set number of pipes to clear, but rather how long you can go. Patient players should have no problem racking up a huge time record, while first-timers should be able to gather their own records.

Don't Get Confused with the Background

One setback that's hard to overlook with Fly Birdie is the background setting, which features three birds flying away from a tropical tree. The important thing to remember is where your bird is positioned - it's yellow, and usually located in the center of the screen. Keep an eye on this one, and don't get distracted. You should fly high with no problem.

Don't Buy Extra Lives

Finally, there is an option in the game to buy additional lives if you choose to continue your run, with three additional ones available for $0.99. Honestly, though, unless you're interested in setting some sort of global record, you don't need to bother. Each time you run through, you'll have three lives to work with, which is more than enough.
The choice is yours.
