Dungeon Keeper Cheats And Tips

Electronic Arts' Dungeon Keeper is a fun game that allows you to manage your own dungeon and fight back against invading territories, while planning a few raids of your own to increase expansion and productivity. It's enjoyable if you have some time on your hands.
Here are some tips that'll help you through the game.

How does in-game currency work in Dungeon Keeper?

There are three general types of currency you'll use.
The first is Stone. With this, you'll be able to build new items in your dungeon, including a treasury for your earnings, a workshop for traps and buildings to surround the heart of your dungeon, which is what keeps it going.
The second is Gold. You'll earn this via gold mines on a regular basis, and also clean up on it by plundering other dungeons, or digging around into new areas of your own dungeon.
Finally, there are Gems. This is the rarest commodity of the bunch, as you'll use it to increase productivity by getting more imps or speeding up progress on certain jobs. You'll start out with about 500 when you begin the game, but you'll soon need to add more, either by completing Achievements or digging further into your dungeon. They can also be purchased separately, in case you're impatient.

How do I expand my dungeon in Dungeon Keeper?

The first thing you'll need to focus on is leveling up your Dungeon Heart. It'll be strong at first, but in order to open new areas of your dungeon, you'll have to earn Combat Points with it, either through successful defense or invading other dungeons via raids.
From there, you can add new areas to your dungeon using resources, bringing imps to your group or new areas to earn more Stone and Gold. This will help increase the number of traps you can put down, making your Dungeon Heart less penetrable to invaders. The more it thrives in each battle, the more opportunity you'll have at making it stronger - and expanding your dungeon as a result.

How do imps and other helpers work in Dungeon Keeper?

When you first begin the game, you'll have two imps to start. You can use these to dig into new areas of the dungeon. Along the way, you'll unlock additional soldiers to use in combat, like trolls. You do this by spending gems, which open up your roster and let you recruit more characters.
As you go about opening new areas of the dungeon, you'll be able to use 2x efficiency boosts. To do this, go to the Imps section on your menu and swipe these creatures in order to slap them. This will motivate them for a small amount of time, so don't hesitate to task them in digging around new areas.

How do spells work in Dungeon Keeper?

In addition to traps you can lay down for would-be defenders, you can occasionally call upon a spell that allows you to eliminate enemies directly, whether by turning into chickens and plucking them out of existence (one of our favorites) or using a demon to breathe fire on them. These spells can be a bit expensive to utilize, but they're handy when it comes to conquering a dungeon, or keeping your Dungeon Heart safe.

How do traps work in Dungeon Keeper?

Traps are used to fend off invading forces in your dungeon. Usually, they're static ones you place in certain parts, like floor spikes and fire pits. It's best to place these in the doorways of the shortest routes to the Dungeon Heart. While that may not sound as convenient as placing them in the long routes, keep in mind that enemy forces like to take the shortest route anywhere in a dungeon. You'll take them out for sure, provided you have enough traps put down. If not, use your secondary forces or spells to wipe them out.

How can I test the efficiency of a dungeon in Dungeon Keeper?

You can perform dungeon testing on your faithful minions. While it won't earn you any currency, it will allow you to see if your defenses are up to snuff. Best of all, it won't cost you any minion resources to do this - only 200 gold. It can also be a humorous break from raiding other peoples' dungeons.

How can I perform a dungeon raid in Dungeon Keeper?

Simple. Just make the selection on the menu to attack someone's dungeon when the option opens up. From here, you'll be able to send out one resource (soldier) at a time to charge forth towards their Dungeon Heart. In addition to missions against the computer, you can also challenge players via PvP, which is a lot of fun.

Do I have to pay for anything in Dungeon Keeper?

If you want to make real progress in the game and don't like waiting around, you can. You can pay anywhere from $4.99 for 500 gems to $99.99 for 14,000 gems. However, keep in mind you can earn small amounts of gems from Achievements and digging, and clean up a few through monthly Survival Raid events as well. Take this option first before you drop the cash.
