Ratchet and Clank: Before the Nexus Review

Now as you know Ratchet and Clank is a one of a kind exclusive to Sony and the PlayStation universe, just like Mario is to Nintendo, and Sonic is to Sega. I have always been a big fan of the Ratchet and Clank series when it first came out for the PlayStation 2 in 2002, and now the duo finally make their way onto Android devices.
Ratchet and Clank: Before the Nexus is not a full-fledged action-adventure game, that most gamers are used to playing on consoles, instead Insomniac Games have taken a different approach. This is a 3D endless runner game, and it does play like any other 3D endless runner game that you have played before. Before the Nexus takes place well like the title implied "before the Nexus". Vendra Prog and her brother, Neftin Prog, are making trouble. And, like most villains in endless running games, they're making a beeline for the horizon. Ratchet gears up to stop them. Luckily, Lombaxes are fleet of foot.
Now as I mentioned this is an 3D endless runner game, so Ratchet does most of the work, and lovable robot buddy mostly hangs on Ratchet's back. What I do find a little disappointing, is the lack of use you get with Clank, and there is not much humor between the two, and there is very little voice acting in this game, now if they would have all those elements, just like with past games, Before the Nexus would have been set apart from other endless runner games.
Ratchet-Clank-2
Before the Nexus, pretty much plays and feels just like any other endless runner game, it does not offer anything new.  Ratchet's primary objectives are to run, shoot, and avoid dying. It is worth noting that the game's terrain switches between rail-grinding zones and combat zones, which mixes up the action nicely and should keep you coming back for another run. The gunplay is spotty, unfortunately. You fire shots by tapping on an enemy, which is simple enough – until your big dumb finger gets in the way of the scenery, making it hard to tell what's targeting you, and what pitfalls are looming ahead. And dodging hazards in this game at times can be a nightmare, because there are some instances, where the controls are unresponsive, and then you will have to start over, but at times the controls can be spot on responsive. Sometimes, going from firing your weapon to swerving left or right takes a split-second longer than it should, and that split-second is not something you can afford to lose when enemies are bearing down on you.
Ratchet and Clank: Before the Nexus all in all is just another typical 3D endless runner, the game does have some issues, but if you are a fan of the Ratchet and Clank series, and endless runner games, you will enjoy playing this free game this waiting to be downloaded onto your Android device from the Google Play Store, so have fun, and Happy Gaming Gamers.
