Mega Jump 2 iPhone Review

Mega Jump 2 is the latest endless-jumper game from Get Set Games, sending Redford and friends into the fray once more to collect coins and power-ups, while avoiding run-ending falls and monsters. Along the way, you'll unlock additional power-ups and characters through the in-game store, either using collected coins or separate in-app purchases.

The Good

Mega Jump 2 has plenty of momentum going for it. There are times your run can pick up tremendously well with power-ups and Mega Mode, which sends you spiraling hundreds of feet in the air. The gameplay is easy for all ages to get into too, and you don't need to make any in-app purchases unless you want to buy everything right away. Presentations neat too, with colorful level design, likable characters and upbeat music.

The Bad

There are a couple of things that go against Mega Jump 2 in the final analysis. First of all, the tilt controls are slightly slippery, which can result in a missed coin or - worse yet - swaying into something that stops your run cols. The second is the sudden appearance of enemies. If you hit them from the bottom, they can stop your run too - and sometimes you're going so fast, you can't even see them coming. It feels like an unfair jinx. Finally, to get some of the better items in the game, you'll either need to plunk down real cash or be really patient.

The Verdict

Get Set Games would've fared better by toning down the game's speed a notch and perfecting its controls, but as it stands, Mega Jump 2 is still a generally good addition to the endless jumper genre. If you liked the original - or you just want to see what Mega Mode can do for you - hop on in.
