The Simpsons: Tapped Out Updated with Battle Mode

EA Mobile has announced its newest content update in The Simpsons: Tapped Out on mobile. This game-changing update takes a stab at the many base-building combat games on mobile devices, and sees players building up their own troops before sending them into battle against their neighbors.
After this update has been downloaded, users are greeted by a quest series from the Barbarian, the one and only character in the "Clash of Clones" character set. After the Barbarian attacks the Simpson household, players will build him a castle within their town, which produces nerds, or fighting units, over time.
When players are ready to attack another Springfield, they can do so using the new menu on the top-right corner of the screen. This takes players to another Springfield, where they can tap on buildings and assign a custom number of Nerds to raid and pillage the area. The more nerds assigned to a task, the less time it takes to complete. Interestingly, these raids can't be sped up with premium currency. Players receive Elixir for each completed raid.
Players can purchase additional nerds with Donuts, the game's premium currency, or can spend their collected Elixir on the castle to increase their nerd production for free. Players will also collect gold (separate from cash) as they complete this event. This gold can be turned in for special, limited edition prizes, like characters, buildings and decorations. Another series of items is available to purchase instantly with Donuts.
The Simpsons: Tapped Out is available to download for free on iTunes, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore. This event will end on October 7, 2014.
