Eternity Warriors 3 is the latest - and greatest - in Glu Mobile's hack-and-slash franchise, offering more characters than ever before, and hours' worth of gameplay - before you need to drop a single cent on the game.
We've previously covered the basics in our general gameplay guide, but now we're back with some essential combat tips to help you get the most from your chosen character.
About Upgrades
When it comes to getting the most from your class, remember that leveling up is key. Making your chosen fighter stronger - both in terms of armor and the special abilities they can utilize - will help you last longer, especially against tougher enemies that appear in the game, such as the Nian or the Cyclops. It's imperative you keep spending money and forging items to acquire the best upgrades, and in no time you'll be strong enough to really dish out some damage.
How do I master the Warrior character in Eternity Warriors 3?
The Warrior character is all about brute strength. You don't want to have this guy attack from a distance. Get in the face of your enemies and show them that you mean business.
When you first start with the Warrior, your sword will already be at an adequate level for quick hack-and-slash attacks. As you proceed on your journey, you'll unlock additional skills, including a dash strike and a lightning blue power-up that will give you a boost of strength with your next attack. Like all special attacks, however, these come at a cost, and you'll need to recharge them for a few seconds before you use them again.
You can spend some money to lessen the waiting time, but the thing that will help you the most is timing your attacks between each special technique. That means using a dash attack, followed by a few simple strikes, then calling upon another attack while you wait for it to recharge. Use them in moderation. Doing so gives you an assault tactic that will make even the strongest enemies fall at your feet.
Don't forget - power up, power up, power up. You want this guy to be a brute, sp don't hold anything back!
How do I master the Mage character in Eternity Warriors 3?
If you prefer a more strategic approach to your combat - or you just like to throw a little magic around - the Mage character is the right choice for you. This wizard can summon some special techniques to do damage to enemies, including floating mystical orbs, a massive freeze attack that hits anything within a minimal range, and a devastating fire attack that - leveled up appropriately - leaves a trail that hits anything in its path.
When you first begin with the Mage, you may need to exercise a little patience at first, due to her lack of up-close abilities. A few rounds of enemies in, however, and you should be able to understand and appreciate what she brings to the table.
Power up her attacks with forging and new utilities as soon as you can - even if that means dropping a few real dollars on the side. Doing so will make her an unbeatable force - and just the thing you need to bring down some of the bigger enemies in the game.
How do I master the Monk character in Eternity Warriors 3?
Like the Warrior, the Monk is a hard-hitter with good up-front techniques. While not as powerful as that other character, he delivers his own hard-hitting style, and is also very quick. This makes him useful for hit-and-run tactics, ie. striking at an enemy then dashing to get out of the way very quickly.
As far as his techniques go, they're more spiritual, but they provide a boost to his abilities. For instance, one skill enables him to deliver more critical hits - an ideal tactic when it comes to defeating larger enemies. He can also give himself a boost, moving much faster than either of the other characters. It's good to have him on board if you're trying to get through a level quickly.
With his attack style, the Monk has a more limited range than the Warrior, but he's equally effective, especially if you can land multiple hits on an enemy in a combo-oriented attack, starting with a swift jump kick and moving into ground strikes. Your best bet with him is to learn the "stick and move" method. Master the dashing technique and try to hit as many enemies as possible. It'll pay off, especially when you're trying to get a shorter completion time on each stage - which rewards you with a little extra gold in the process.
Good luck!
