The Good
Despite the rather short length - the game currently only offers eight rooms to solve - Can You Escape 2 is extremely addictive. Trying to find the puzzle solutions can be a bit tough at first, but you'll be well rewarded upon finding the solution. The gameplay works very well, with effective on-screen interaction with objects, and some of the puzzles are diabolically clever, especially those found later in the game. It's free of charge too, although you can buy an ad-free edition for a dollar if you prefer, although they're by no means intrusive.
The Bad
The design seems plain compared to most puzzle games, and it relies more on a Myst-style presentation rather than a full 3D rendering. That's not entirely a bad thing, but those of you expecting pizazz won't find it here. Also, the music tends to repeat quite a bit, which may leave you reaching for the volume switch. Finally, only eight rooms are available in the current release, which means you'll be done sooner rather than later - at least until an update arrives.
The Verdict
Even with its short length, Can You Escape 2 has plenty of smarts going for it. The puzzle design is ingenious, the interface is easy to use, and the solutions will put a smile on your face. Not bad for a game that can be played without spending a cent.
