Stick Stunt Biker 2 Review

For some strange reason, any game that has the word “stick” into the title seems to be destined to become an instant hit. The same happens with Stick Stunt Biker 2, the popular sequel of the even more popular game with the same name (minus the 2, of course). The game is available for free on Android (as opposed to the 99 cents cost on iOS) ans we’re going to see if it’s worth playing or not.
In case you haven’t played the original yet, let me tell you a bit about Stick Stunt Biker 2: it’s a physics based driving game where your goal is to reach the end as fast as possible. Sounds pretty straightforward, but when you will have to perform crazy jumps, turns and twists (including driving on walls and ceilings), things get a bit more complicated. And a lot more fun. And maybe a bit frustrating.

The thing is that you maybe have played games like Stick Stunt Biker 2 in the past and you’ll see that in concept, it is not that different. Basically, there are few innovations that can be brought to the genre, but this title still manages somehow to be cool, fun and addictive.
Part of this is clearly the smart level design: not only that the tracks that you have to complete are gradually introducing new obstacles and elements, but they also change worlds completely with each level, always offering you a new experience.
And if this doesn’t sound enough to keep you playing, then knowing that you play against yourself will certainly do. Every time you replay a track, you will play against your “shadow” which represents your previous run on the track. This gives you an on-track indicator on how you are doing compared to your previous run and it would’ve been even greater if it had remembered your best run and always have you play against it.

Controls in Stick Stunt Biker 2 are also extremely simple to learn and difficult to master: you have two on-screen buttons to accelerate and brake, while tilting your device left or right helps you change the balance on the bike. The controls are responsive and everything works great until you realize that you suck and you play over and over again just to see the sad truth again: you really suck! Or maybe it’s just me.
Frustrating or not, Stick Stunt Biker 2 is an extremely fun game and I really can’t find anything to criticize. Except for the fact that it’s incredibly difficult at times, which might be translated as me being incredibly not-skilled, so we’ll have to ignore that. Flawless? Indeed!

Final rating: 5 out of 5
