- Don't get too close to your targets. Even though it'll make your own shots easier, it'll also make you an easier target for your adversary - and they may be packing a stronger tank. Get used to the aiming system and try to take more shots from a distance. You might miss a couple, but you'll stand a better chance of survival overall, and weapon damage isn't affected by range.
- Make the most of your movement opportunities. You have to pay in order to refuel your tank - about 10 gold each time - so you'll want to move however you can on each turn, and then save up for the refuel the next time around. Saving gold is vital, especially if you want to upgrade towards a stronger tank.
- Get stuck into some random battles with strangers while you wait for any friends that are signing in. You'll get more practice with your tank by doing so, which in turn will help you out with your buddy battles. You'll also level up more quickly, and gain access to new tanks and upgrades as a result.
- Before you go purchasing a bunch of gold in the game, take advantage of the free offers. You'll earn five gold for inviting friends via Facebook, and ten free gold for liking the BattleFriends In Tanks page. It never hurts to have some free moolah added to your account.
- Take your time when it comes to leveling up your tank. Your basic model is pretty good when it comes to the core action, and you'll earn a secondary tank, the Grey Goliath, in no time. The other premium tanks, such as the golden King's Ransom and the decorative Big Brain offer a little more firepower, but can also be unlocked over time. Just keep battling with your basic models, then upgrade once you've earned enough gold.
- Blowing up obstacles may seem like a practical idea, but keep in mind you only get to fire one shot per turn. Make each one count, and instead learn to fire over objects so that you hit the enemies around them. You'll only want to take out obstacles directly if they're preventing you from tracking down a foe on the other side of the battle area.
