I have loved racing games, but for some reason I seem to be really
picky when it comes to these types of games. Luckily Turbo Racing League
eliminates those little things I seem to nit-pick at.
Just a released a day after the movie, Turbo Racing League is based on the new movie. PikPok has done the honors of developing this fun racing game.
For those who may not be familiar with the movie and without me
giving any spoilers (I’ll try my best) the film follows a snail named
Theo a.k.a. Turbo who dreams of being the fastest racer in the world.
When you start your engine……..err I mean your snail, you will have the option of choosing between being a male or female
snail racer. Whichever you choose both of them play the same. Then you
will be taken to Tito’s garage, for a little tutorial, about the racing
world. Before you start your race you will be given the choice to choose the type of control you want to use when you play the game.
There are 4 types of controls to choose from. First you have the
basic “Tilt” where you tilt your phone to go left or right, press
anywhere on the screen to slide (it’s basically drifting). Next you have “Touch” where you touch the left side of the screen to go left and the right screen to go right press both sides of the screen to slide. Then you have the “Thumb Stick” it’s an icon that is located at the lower left side of the screen, you slide to go left and right , and last you have “Buttons” again located at the lower left screen, simply press left or right. For the last to types the slide button will be located on the lower right screen.
Now being a snail, all of the tracks will reflect with your small
size. The races will be on table tops made with everyday around the
house items such as a deck of cards, straws, and books.
Tomatoes act as currency in the game, collect as many as you can because there are lots of items to buy to customize your snail. At the store
you will have 5 racers to choose from each of them have their own
strengths and weaknesses. There are also shells, spoilers, and exhausts
to choose and all with there own strengths and weakness and all vary in
price. There is also a spray shop that allows you to change the color of
you shell, skin, and as well as the neon color that goes around the
shell.
Whatever type of controls you choose from, they all play smoothly and
respond well. The game looks like the snails were taken out of the
movie and put into the game. Its looks, sounds, great but most
importantly it plays like a racing game.
Turbo Racing League is easily a fun game to play; this game will appeal
to all ages. It is worth a try. It has 9 different unique tracks to
race on, a lot of stuff to buy, lots of customizations to add to your
snail, and a lot of replay value. This game is a freebie. So race on to google play store, and download it today.
