There’s just one “button” that you have to use in order to tap this
game. How difficult can it be? This is the question that I have asked
myself before loading The Tapping Dead and now I am laughing my ass off
at my naivety:
The Tapping Dead is an insanely difficult game!
But this shouldn’t put you off. It’s not an impossible game and does
have a great level design and great graphics – if you’re into that
retro, pixelated stuff that’s riding high right now. And the most
important thing is that it doesn’t really have a story and you couldn’t
care less about this, as it has all the other elements (plus a few
really annoying ones).

So
what’s the deal in The Tapping Dead? You’re this guy that looks like
Mario and you find yourself thrown into the Z-Mart, with only one goal
in mind: get to the exit. And it’s not an easy task, since along the way
you will run into a ton of obstacles, usually all sorts of walking dead
trying to make your life miserable. And usually they will manage to do
it.
Your character is always moving and you can only tap the screen to
stop him. This extremely simple gameplay mechanic turns into a real game
of skill and perfect timing, because as you progress through the
levels, you will find them more and more difficult. And if the levels
themselves were not enough of a challenge, you only start with 10 lives
that you should do your best not to lose, because that’s when the
waiting game begins: you get an extra life every 10 minutes up to a
maximum of 10, and even though it might sound like a lot of lives, you
will know that it’s not after playing The Tapping Dead.

If
you have nothing to do and you want lives faster, you can always
purchase them with Zoins (premium currency in the level and also the one
you can pay for with real cash) or play the tapping game within the
Tapping Dead – simply smash the zombies on the streets until you get a
new life. This is a nice thing and doesn’t make the game look like one
whose sole purpose is to make you spend real money to get extra play
chances but it still remains pretty time consuming.
Eventually, you will probably end up playing the Tapping Dead for
just a couple of minutes before your lives are over again, since each
level comes with a learning stage in which you will probably lose at
least a couple of lives. So what makes The Tapping Dead extremely
challenging and really interesting can turn against the game, since
nobody likes to play the waiting game (unless you plant cauliflowers and
wait for them to grow).
Visually, The Tapping Dead comes with stunning pixelated graphics and
great enemies, all accompanied by a 16-bit era inspired music that goes
perfectly with the game.
What
it lacks is the option to pay the 99 cents to get lives faster or
something like that because the waiting game is probably killing this
game. Which is sad because The Tapping Dead is not at all bad, on the
contrary! It’s the real deal and a true gem! So do head over to
Google Play and download it for free!
