Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2: Foodimal Frenzy Review

 

The game Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2: Foodimal Frenzy gives gamers something different to play. There were movie tie-ins such as Despicable Me 2 and Monsters Inc. 2 that were endless runners, and then you had The Lone Ranger which falls into the time management category. But this game has the magic, fun, and addiction of Candy Crush Saga , and Bejeweled, and crazy as it may sound, it actually works well. Please read on fellow gamers
Sony Pictures Animation teamed up with good folks to create Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2: Foodimal Frenzy. And the story of this game is; Inventor Flint Lockwood has discovered that his beloved home of Swallow Falls has been overrun by extraordinary (and kind of adorable) foodimals: food-animal hybrids! Join Flint, Sam, Steve and other favorites on a deliciously dangerous journey back to Swallow Falls.
Now when you first play the game you will begin with a short tutorial on how to connect and save the cute-as-a button foodiamls. The more of them you save the higher score you will get. And with game such as Candy Crush Saga and Bejeweled you usually have to connect three or more in a row either vertically or horizontally, in this game you can do both but, you can also connect diagonally too. Connecting diagonally was something that you couldn't do in Candy Crush Saga and Bejeweled. And have the ability to connect diagonally just seems to add more fun to this game.

Just like Candy Crush and Bejeweled , you are not just aiming for save a certain amount of foodimals, but you have to hit your goal within a time limit. Each level will give you a goal and if you do not hit the minimum goal within the time limit given you will not be able to advance to the next level. One goal may be to save a foodimal that is carrying a Celebrationator (this will wipe out all of the foodimal that is carrying one). Players may find this game a bit on the easy side, but with Celebrationator gives the game a bit of a challenge. After playing for more than an hour, I was able to get past more of the levels and get enough stars to get me past the onto the next. There is plenty of levels to play through, and the game is fun and very addicting to play.
When you at the game map, on the top left hand corner you will notice a battery icon, those act as you lives in the game, now when I play a game I want to keep playing until I want to. Mind you once you play this game, you'll find it hard to stop playing, but having lives in a game that is fun and addicting to play just kills the game experience. And if you run out of battery lives, you can fork out money or you can wait half an hour until you live recharge. With this kid-friendly and easy challenging game, I find having the lives so unnecessary.

The game graphics have the same 2D animation style that is similar to the end credits to the first movie. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2: Foodimal Frenzy is fun and addicting to play, but I do find the game to be too easy, which may not be a bad thing. This game is available at the Google Play Store.
