Talk about a surprise. Activision dropped a bomb on the App Store today with the sudden release of Call of Duty: Strike Team, a $6.99 title for iPhone and iPad.
Set in the year 2020, the U.S. goes to war with a mysterious enemy.
You lead a Joint Special Operations Team to kick butt and take names.
What makes this game unique is the ability to switch from first to third
person perspectives and back. You'll customize your squad (perks, body
armor) and even direct them on the battlefield.
There's no multiplayer to speak of (yet), but in addition to
Campaign, a Survival Mode lets you fight off waves of enemies. From
there, compare high scores with others through online leaderboards.
The lack of MP is somewhat disappointing, but we can't wait to play
this one. We'll have more on Call of Duty: Strike Team in the days
ahead.
