In June, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition was unceremoniously removed from the App Store for legal issues and the development of the Android version of the game was put on hold. Last month, Trent Oster, Beamdog's President, announced that it is once again available for iOS and the Android tablet version will be appearing in the near future. Now, barely a month later, we already have a sequel in development. Overhaul Games has announced that Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition will be coming to Android tablets by the end of this year. The game will include the main game: Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, the expansion: Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, and The Black Pits 2: Gladiators of Thay. The Black Pits will be arena based and the developers have stated that it is to cater to more veteran players. Also included will be four new characters: Neera, a wild mage, Dorn Il-Khan, a raider, a monk named Rasaad Bashir, and a mysterious thief. The bad news is that you have to purchase them separately as IAPs. The good news is that purchasing each of them will unlock a whole new adventure revolving around that character, so it will probably be worth it to shell out a few dollars for them. The PC and Mac version of Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition is set to be released on 15 November 2013. The mobile tablet versions should come soon-ish after that. We will be sure to keep you updated if anything pops up about this and on the impending release of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition. | |||
