CSR Classics Cheats And Tips

Like its predecessor, CSR Classics is a fine reflex racing game, one that's let down only by its hungry, hungry freemium pricing model. If the success of the first game is anything to go by though, that surely won't stop Natural Motion making enough money to build a rocket to the moon.
To help you make that precious Gas currency go just a little further before you have to reach into your wallet, we've put together some useful hints and tips for making that in-game cash go a little further.

How do I get off to a quick start in CSR Classics?
This isn't explained particularly well in the tutorial, but to get a little speed boost before the flag goes down, you mustn't mash the gas pedal as fast as you can. Instead, tap it just enough to make the dashboard light turn green, and then tap slowly to maintain that position.
How do I buy new cars in CSR Classics?
Tap on the Car Dealer button at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen to head off to the game's dealerships - you can then select which make of car you want to browse for. You'll need premium currency to unlock the cars provided in a Loved condition - and even some of the Unloved bangers will cost you real money.
How do I win more races in CSR Classics?
First things first, get that tricky boost at the start of the race down perfectly - that's the quickest way to give yourself an edge in races. After that it's a case of concentrating on the dials, and anticipating the gear changes. Focus on the red lights that gradually light up, and get a feel for the increasing rhythm of how each marker is illuminated.
What does the Mechanic do in CSR Classics?
1
For a price, the Mechanic will give your car performance a boost, but be warned these boosts only last a certain number of races. The more coins you spend, the more boosts per coin you'll get in exchange - so if you can afford to invest in this area, we recommend going for the 5 race boost pack.
What are Daily Battles in CSR Classics?
Every day you'll be given the chance to take on a special battle, using a car you might not normally have in your possession. Be warned that these are very tricky, so don't be tempted to spend all your Gas on taking part in these special missions early on - they're likely beyond your capabilities until you have a better vehicle with a few upgrades attached. Always use your precious Gas as efficiently as possible.
How can I make more money in CSR Classics?
To get your hands on more lovely lolly, it can be efficient to grind your way through the Regulation races in the game. You'll burn through your Gas reserves fairly quickly doing this, so make sure you set the challenge to a level you know you can comfortably beat, without risking a total loss. That'll keep an efficient flow of money coming in over time.
How do I unlock new tiers in CSR Classics?
2
The game is split into a number of tiers, each one of which contains battles, ladders, challenges and so on. In order to unlock a new tier of content, you'll have to beat the previous tier's crew members and boss.
What do the different upgrades do in CSR Classics?
There are four areas of performance that upgrades in CSR Classics will affect. Here's the lowdown on what you'll get for enhancing each part of your classic car.
Gear Box
Spending money here will not only make your gear changes happen more quickly, your revs will shoot up too. Very handy in the early stages where you want to maintain a solid lead over the competition.
Engine
Raw power will be the reward from upgrading the engine of your classic car.
Carburettor
3
A better carburettor means more efficient fuel flow, and will again give a boost to the horsepower available under the hood.
Exhaust
Improving your exhaust performance will also increase your horsepower, but to a lesser degree than engine or carburettor improvements.
Nitrous
Install a nitrous system and you'll be able to take advantage of a burst of extra speed once during each race.
Tires & Rims
Upgrade this area of vehicle performance, and you'll reduce the risk of wheel-spin - annoying when you want to get off to a brisk start.
Which upgrades should I make first in CSR Classics?
4
Given that each race has the potential to surprise you and your car's performance, and you won't know what that challenge is really like until you've - potentially - wasted a Gas token, get Nitrous under your hood asap. That way you'll get a one-time boost to performance each race - and that'll sometimes save the day. After that, tune up to smooth out your weakness in a given part of the campaign.
