Turbo Kids Review

Do you remember the game Canabalt? Well do you remember the game Super Mario Kart for the SNES? Well when you combine the thrilling gameplay of Canabalt, and the cuteness of Super Mario Kart, you will get a game titled Turbo Kids. Want to find out more, please read on fellow gamers.
Now like most runner games that are on the Google Play Store, they are based of endless levels, where the objective of the game is to run as far as possible, while trying to navigate your character passed random pits, obstacles, and enemies. Well Turbo Kids does offer something different for the player, in this game you have to be the first one to be at the end of the level. And just like Super Mario Kart you will have different weapons to assist you, such as Ice Flakes, that will freeze your opponent, for a few seconds.
And having the power-ups and using them in the game does remind you of playing Super Mario Kart, it does add a lot of excitement and mayhem to the races as you go from last to first place. But once you do make it to first place, and you do lose the lead, trying to get back to first place is a hard task, so hard that it gets frustrating, unless you can somehow put in a perfect performance. Turbo Kids cute performance is an eye-catcher for younger kids, but it difficulty may be slightly off putting for gamers wanting 3 stars across the board but finishing anywhere above 5th place allows you to progress to the next level.

The stars that you gain from passing levels allows you to unlock additional abilities for your player. For instance you can use the stars to gain a moonwalk ability that lets you run in the air as well as break free from the frozen state of ice flakes, a very handy ability given the number ice flakes that fly around each of levels. In addition to the stars, there is gold coin currency that allows you to upgrade the base attributes of your player like your base run speed and the time that you are frozen for. The level up system provides a nice way to keep your interest however the upgrades get expensive quite quickly at which point you're faced with a choice of grinding to earn more stars and coins or to part with your cash to buy extra currency.
Turbo Kids' presentation is good, the cute and smooth graphics with complimenting color palette is pleasing to the eyes. The sound track is also solid and suits the theme of the game nicely. Fans of the cute cartoon style will definitely appreciate this.
Playing Turbo Kids was a real treat, and it did offer something new to the runner genre. The fast and chaotic gameplay is entertaining however the lack of variety soon catches up and the levels become quite repetitive. With 60 levels in total as well as the challenging nature of the game, only die hard fans would stick it out till the end. Turbo Kids is available free at the Google Play Store.
