Zombie World War Review

After writing and directing of Night of the Living Dead in 1968, George A. Romero, started the “hypothetical” zombie apocalypse genre. His legacy is carried on, and can be seen in movies, read in books and played in games. And there is no denying the fact that the zombie apocalypse genre, is without a doubt here to stay.
Zombie World War is about a zombie apocalypse, and your character is a lone solider, a survivor, in a city that is populated with….well zombies. He must shoot down waves and waves of zombies to ensure his safety and survival. So that he can get out of the zombie infested city alive and in one piece. Are you up for the challenge? When you start the game you will go through a short tutorial that tells you where to click, which I found so unnecessary to have. Then you have dialogue from our lone solider who basically says that he is the only one, in the U.S., and that he must leave and search for other survivors. And the action begins. You play the game with an over view of the city. Your character is at the bottom of the screen, behind a barricade, you have to shoot down zombies that are coming from left, right, and center. You will have an interface display that has your health at the top left corner; the amount of dollars you earn is located at the upper right, at the lower right is the coins that you have collected, and at the lower left are your power-ups.

The gameplay of this game is just a simple matter of tapping where to shoot, and it will automatically shoot. You don’t have to worry about reloading or ammo. The sounds effects of bullets hitting zombies , and those fat zombies exploding, sound great, even the game’s music sound fantastic, it almost sounds like it actually coming from a George A. Romero zombie movie. The visuals look great, and just like most zombie game is dark and gloomy, and blood being splattered also look good too.
Now in order for you to pass a level, you have to keep shooting zombies until the “light green” bar fills up, the bar is located at the upper center of the screen. And of course you will be graded on your performance, such as shooting zombies before they get to your barricade and taking your health away, and getting combos, and with each successful combo you are rewarded coins, getting an “S” as a grade is the considered the highest grade, and you will also be rewarded with dollars and coins too.  There are different types of zombies that you will shoot down. First you will start with a M.I.B. looking zombie, then you will have one that will look bigger, then you will have fat zombie that will explode, and there are also dogs too.
There are 3 world maps that you have to fight your way through, each world will have 7 stages and those stages have 6 levels. So with more than 100 levels in this game, it will be enough to keep you busy for a while. Also there are 3 levels of difficulty for you players to try out; easy, hard, and nightmare.
Zombie world war has a lot of items for you to buy. There are more than 10 types of guns; each of them has different strengths such as damage, and fire rate. The game has many upgrades to buy as well you have guards; they act as your power ups that you use during play. Hell’s messengers are big fire balls that come from the sky, and there is a Ghost king that will freeze all zombies. Defence and Attack act more like passive power-ups but are still nice to have and upgrade, to help you out as you progress further into the game.

Overall Zombie World War is a fun game to play with great sounds and visuals. The controls are as smooth as butter, and there is tons of stuff to buy, there are over 100 levels for you to play through, and as well as 3 different modes of difficulty to try out. Now whether if you are a fan of the zombie genre or not, or you just like shooting at things that move, this game should not be passed up, it is worth a try.
