Bus Simulator 3D Review

In bus simulator 3D you drive a bus around picking up passengers in many different maps. The goal is simple, pick up the passengers, don’t crash and drop them off. You earn 100 XP by picking them up and 200 by stopping for the ticket conductor. You need to be careful though. If you crash you lose 30 XP and if you brake too hard, you lose 20 XP. When you have earned enough XP, you can buy new buses.
Perfect Balance
bus simulator 3D review
The best thing about Bus Sim 2013 is definitely the driving experience, it really makes you feel like a real bus driver without making it too boring. There is two camera options in the game, one above the bus and one in the cockpit. I preferred driving in the cockpit because it made it feel even more realistic. You can use three different ways to steer, tilt, buttons and a wheel. I would use the wheel but it was too laggy on my phone. I advise using the buttons. The mechanics was overall great but there were some problems here and there (e.g. the bus would by itself steer to the left without me touching the button).
Level packs and buses
The maps/routes weren’t too challenging or easy, it was a perfect mix. There is a time limit for every route. These can be from 10-30 minutes. There is 5 level packs in the career mode, where the third one is the only one that cost money. There is a total of 16 free maps/routes. These take place in cities like Paris and Rome. The best in my opinion are the ones that are in the nature. Forest maps and the mountain map were the best. The game should work on most devices but the fifth level pack works only on High Performance Devices. There is 9 buses and all of them are free. But instead of earning all the required XP, you can unlock all of them with real money.
Graphics
The graphic weren’t the best, but the maps are pretty huge. It didn’t have a lot of elements and good textures in the game though. The grass and mountains were really bad, they looked like they were done by an amateur in less than an hour. The buses looked good but the roads could have been better. The game was rendering when I was driving but it didn’t really matter. Like any other game, the better phone you have, the better graphics you will get. I have read that the game works on low-end phones like the Galaxy Y, but with some phones it didn’t even start loading.
Similar to Euro Truck Simulator
When I was playing this game, it reminded me of Euro Truck Simulator. The long distances and the realism were very identical. If OviLEX/Ovidiu Pop, the creators, are going to develop a new game, they should certainly make a Euro Truck like game. The mechanics in Bus Sim would perfectly fit a Euro Truck copy.
Even if it didn’t have the best graphics I think it’s worth a try. It may sound boring to drive a bus but with your own music in the background it can be a really cool game. Bus Simulator 3D can be downloaded for free here.
